The 2016 Hands of Grace Mission Trip is scheduled for JULY 23 – 30th. If you are interested in learning more and being involved please contact the church office.
When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast along the shores of Mississippi and Louisiana in 2005 no one was prepared. Local, state and federal governments struggled to respond. Gulf Coast homes, businesses and churches were decimated and residence suddenly found themselves faced with urgent needs and few area resources. It was then, that church mission teams throughout the country began making long trips to help Gulf Coast residence in the Katrina aftermath. Covenant of Grace was one of those teams. With the love of Christ and Hands of Grace hope began to emerge out of chaos.
Following the experience with Hurricane Katrina, Covenant of Grace joined forces with fellow PCA churches and Mission to North America (MNA) Disaster Response to provide financial support, resources and volunteers to help communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic events.
God has called us to put love into action. Covenant of Grace continues to send volunteer teams to assist with Disaster Response. For example, in 2008 Covenant of Grace helped rebuild the flooded areas of Grand Rapids Iowa, and in 2014 our disaster relief team worked through the MNA Sheds of Hope program to build much needed storage sheds for Louisville, Mississippi tornado victims.
In 2014 Mission to North America awarded Covenant of Grace with their very own first responder trailer to help transport much needed supplies to disaster areas. The MNA coordinates with church congregations to send volunteer teams to areas with the most needs. Volunteers from Covenant annually give one week of their time in July or August to travel to disaster affected areas where they assist in clean up and rebuilding of the affected area. Please consider joining the Hands of Grace Disaster Relief Team. Prayers and donations are welcomed.
